Alpha 3.17 - Fueling Fortunes New Gameplay, New Missions, New Adventures Alpha 3.17 - Fueling Fortunes was released on April 29, 2022, which introduced the support career, refueling, alongside the opening of Lorville’s hospital location, enhancements to mining, selling items to shops, and the introduction of planetary river generation.

All ships have been equipped with fuel ports in this update, allowing you to dock with the Starfarer line of ships and purchase both hydrogen and quantum fuel from another player. Check out the full Ship-to-Ship Refueling guide for details on how this new system works.

Selling Items to Shops There's never been a better time to get out there and hunt for treasure. Complimenting the release of loot generation in Alpha 3.15, our latest patch grants the ability to sell looted items to most shops through their newly redesigned kiosk. Prices will vary depending on the location and type of shop, so offload your goods carefully!

Mining Gadgets Further fleshing out the mining career, a new type of usable can now be found at refinery decks around Stanton: the Mining Gadget. These can be used to further alter the properties of the ore you're trying to mine, allowing you to crack open bigger and tougher rocks. Take the risk of exiting your vehicle to place one of these for a shot at a much bigger reward.

Alpha 3.16 - Return To Jumptown New Gameplay, New Missions, New Adventures Alpha 3.16: Return To Jumptown was released on December 22, 2021, and introduced the Dynamic Event, Jumptown 2.0, along with improvements to grav-lev vehicles, a new hospital location in Area18, and new environmental derelicts.

Across Stanton, three drug factories (one classic, two new) are working overtime, offering enterprising citizens the opportunity to make a fortune. Be careful though, as it’s not just a leisurely grab-and-go hauling job…

Derelict Ship Puzzles The first iteration of this all-new feature litters space with crashed and abandoned ships waiting to be explored. Inside, curious players are challenged to navigate their way through the wreckage to uncover the loot within.

Derelict ships also premiere laser trip mines that must be disarmed or avoided at all costs. These traps will be available to use in-game by players in a coming patch.

Vehicle Grav-Lev System Rework Alpha 3.16 improves all grav-lev vehicles in the game, making them more fun to control across the various planetary terrains of Stanton. Players can also adjust the height at which their vehicles hover; bikes will move faster the closer they are to the ground, but the risk of a serious crash on rough terrain also increases.

Alpha 3.15 - Deadly Consequences New Gameplay, New Missions, New Adventures Alpha 3.15: Deadly Consequences was released on November 10, 2021, and introduced a new medical system, complete with hospitals, tiered injuries, and a plethora of medical drugs and tools.

When injured, players will now enter a downed state, where they can call for help and be revived by others. The head, torso, and limbs can now be individually injured, each impacting player control and movement. For example, a broken arm impedes a player's aim, while a head injury causes dizziness. Injuries are tiered, with less-serious ailments being temporarily treatable in the field, though all body damage must eventually be healed at a medical facility.

Lootable items The loot generation system places dynamically-generated item crates throughout the universe for players to discover. From planetary surfaces to landing zones, it’s worth scouring the corners of the universe to load up on guns, armor, consumables, and more.

NPCs and downed enemy characters can be looted too, so players should always check for anything useful before moving on from a fight.

Personal Inventory A major step towards a truly persistent universe, the Personal Inventory physicalizes everything owned by the player and manages it through the new 'NikNax' Asset Manager mobiGlas app. Of course, the size and weight of weapons, consumables, armor, and more affect what can be equipped at once, so now every journey must be well considered beforehand.

Players must carefully gear up before missions, as inventory space is limited. However, ships with weapon lockers and personal storage can be used to store additional equipment, making long trips more manageable.

Alpha 3.14 - Welcome To Orison New Locations, New Features, New Adventures Alpha 3.14: Welcome to Orison was released on August 6, 2021, and introduced Crusader and its majestic city in the clouds, Orison. Once home to the UEE Navy’s shipyards, Crusader Industries transformed the unique latticework of floating platforms into arguably the most picturesque city in Stanton.

Advanced Power Management Pilots can use the new capacitors to allocate power between their ship’s shields, thrusters, and weapons however they see fit. From finely balancing defense and offense mid-battle to maxing out performance for a swift getaway, this added versatility can make all the difference between success and defeat, or even life and death.

Missile Operator Mode & AI Improvements Projectiles are more deadly than ever thanks to the all-new Missile Operator mode, which gives greater accuracy and control in combat. The projectiles themselves now use the same flight model as ships, making them behave more realistically and improving their effectiveness.

Alpha 3.13 - Underground Infamy FPS Cave & Delivery Missions Alpha 3.13 - Underground Infamy, was released on April 22nd, 2021, and introduced new underground environments, reputation systems, Ship-to-ship docking, and two new vehicles.

To make the most of Alpha 3.13's more varied cave entrances, three new missions task players with eliminating targets underground. Whether you’re righteous or on the wrong side of the law, there are new adventures beneath the surface.

Ship-to-Ship Docking Alpha 3.13 premiered ship docking with the RSI Constellation and its parasite craft, the Kruger Merlin. Players can launch from inside the three variants with an onboard Merlin Connie and return in one seamless journey. This is the first iteration, with more ships receiving support in coming patches.

Reputation Manager The first iteration of the Reputation Manager is available on the mobiGlas, giving players the ability to see their standing with the various organizations and mission-givers across Stanton. Better reputation gives better rewards for completed jobs and, in the future, will give access to organization-specific items and missions. Reputation is a key feature in Star Citizen going forward, with players needing to think about who their actions will positively or negatively impact.

Alpha 3.12 - Assault on Stanton Setting The Stage For Dynamic Events Alpha 3.12 - Assault On Stanton was released on December 17, 2020, and introduced refinery gameplay, new ships, updated planetary environments, new space cloud tech, a multi-purpose handheld tractor beam tool, AI and combat optimizations, and more. It premiered backend tech that enables dynamic events in Star Citizen’s ever-expanding universe. Quarterly patch releases now include new, unique missions and server-wide activities. From improving annual events like Invictus Launch Week to enabling patch-exclusive adventures and battles, dynamic events begin shaking the ‘verse up…

Multi-Tool Tractor Beam Hold on tight, the ubiquitous Greycat Multi-Tool got an upgrade with the all-new Tractor Beam attachment. When equipped, you can move objects and cargo weighing up to 250 kg for significantly easier payload management.

In zero-G, the Tractor Beam also acts as a grappling hook, allowing you to travel distances much quicker than EVA alone.

Refinery Decks Head into the depths of select R&R space stations to find a regular haunt of serious miners and traders alike: the all-new Refinery Decks. Forget wasting credits earned from a big mining expedition. You can now cut out the middleman, refining the ore yourself and gaining all the spoils of a job well done.

Alpha 3.11 - High Impact Experience the 'verse in a new way Alpha 3.11 - High Impact was released on October 8, 2020, and brought with it new force reactions and high-powered weapons, as well as improvements to planetary art, expanded prison gameplay, and cargo decks.

It takes an incredible volume of ore, food, and weapons to keep Stanton’s lights on, with most legal hauls running through at least one cargo deck. Located on the system’s busiest trade routes, cargo decks are your new go-to location for ship rentals, hauling supplies, or simply taking a breather during long journeys.

Force Reactions Alpha 3.11 introduced the first iteration of Force Reactions. Now, players and NPCs will react to gunshots, lean as ships bank into turns, and even get knocked down by big impacts. This was just the start for Force Reactions, with future updates including staggering, knockbacks, and reactions to exterior ship impact.

Green Zone Removal Green Zones forcibly prevent the use of weapons near landing zones and many points-of-interest. For added freedom, Alpha 3.11 removed them from most space stations, meaning you're free to use your ship's weapons at will. But beware, there are repercussions for bad behavior…
